A Complete Solution Guide For Solving Today's Internet Marketing Challenges

Tactics for Your Core Marketing Strength

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Pretty well every marketing strategy or tactic that exists can fall under one of these three areas: writing, speaking and networking.
Most of us usually have a clear “winner” in terms of which activity we enjoy doing the best or know the most about.
I call this your core marketing strength and I think it’s important for you to figure out where your expertise lies. In this way, you can get started implementing marketing activities right away and actually enjoy them more because you can do them faster and easier.
I’ve outlined the most common (and effective) beginner and advanced marketing strategies under each of the 3 areas of writing, speaking and networking:
Beginner marketing tactics for writing include:
* write articles and submit to online submission sites
* write articles and post to your website
* have a blog
* write an ezine
* write press releases and news releases
* create autoresponders and email campaigns
Advanced marketing tactics for writing:
* write articles for industry and association publications (print and online)
* write ebooks
* write a book for publication
* write info products
* do guest blog posts
–> I do Resource Nation
* offer articles to strategic alliance partners and affiliates
* write a column for a newspaper or magazine or an online site
* write a newsletter
* write and send out direct marketing pieces
Beginner marketing tactics for speaking are:
* give free talks – professional organizations, community groups, service clubs, networking groups, small businesses
* do teleseminars/teleclasses
* do podcasts
* do an audio ezine
Advanced marketing tactics for speaking:
* give media interviews – radio, TV, newspaper, magazine
* host workshops and seminars
* be a guest speaker at conferences
* develop an audio program
* host an interactive webinar
Beginner marketing tactics for networking include:
* participate in social media such as Facebook, My Space, YouTube
* participate in internet discussion lists, forums and blogs
* join a networking group and breakfast clubs
* join local Chamber of Commerce or Board of Trade
Advanced marketing tactics for networking:
* join and/or create affiliate programs
* host a club, association or special interest group
* serve on committees and Boards
* attend professional organization/association meetings
* create strategic alliances and joint ventures
Once you’ve got some of your basic marketing tactics running smoothly as part of your marketing framework, you can start adding other tactics. You can include more advanced strategies that are based on your core marketing strength or you can start implementing tactics from either one or both of the other marketing areas.
By identifying your core marketing strength and creating a marketing action plan that encompasses your competencies, you’ll be well on your way to successfully and enjoyably marketing your small business.

5 Steps Towards a Marketing Tactic

There are 5 major steps involved in creating and promoting any marketing strategy: preparation, creation, production, delivery and release/launch.
Let’s have a look at each of these 5 major steps:
STEP ONE: PREPARATION
The first major step involved in getting a specific marketing tactic up and running deals with preparation. In the preparation stage you need to answer questions such as:
* which format you will use?
* what is the content going to be?
* where will you get the content?
* who do you need to include in this project?
Let’s look at the example of creating a free-giveaway as the specific marketing tactic you want to do. There are basically 6 different formats (involving audio, video or written) you can choose from – depending on your resources (money, time, materials), your objectives, and what your target group likes (do they prefer audio over written, etc.).
Once you’ve decided on what format you are going to provide your free-giveaway in, you next want to determine what the content is going to be.
Will you create something from scratch, use existing materials you have (articles, teleseminar recording), or re-purpose something you’ve already used (i.e. transcribe a speech)
You also need to determine (based on your time, skill and money resources) if you’ll be assigning certain steps to different people. Examples would be a designer, Virtual Assistant, partner, editor and so on.
STEP TWO: CREATION
This is the step where you actually start creating or putting together whatever’s needed for the specific marketing tactic you’re working on.
Does this step require writing or recording something? Maybe you have to edit some existing material?
Using the example of the free-giveaway, say you decide that an MP3 recording is going to be your free product. Some of the steps involved would include:
* write a script
* rehearse/practice
* get someone to interview you
STEP THREE: PRODUCTION
The third step in implementing any marketing tactic revolves around production. Depending on the tactic, this could require only a few steps. It depends on the format, the content, how much of it you are outsourcing, and so on.
Using the MP3 free-giveaway as an example, some of the activities you would need to do for production could include:
* record the audio
* edit content
* add music
STEP FOUR: DELIVERY
The fourth step is to set up your delivery mechanisms for the particular marketing tactic you are doing. In other words, how are you going to get noticed, get something into the hands of prospects and clients, give something to your joint venture and strategic alliance partners, and the like?
This step depends on what your objective is for this marketing strategy, who your target group is and where they hang out, your current resources (do you have a website?) and so on.
Using the example of the marketing tactic of a free-giveaway, some of the activities under this step could be:
* create the MP3 link
* create a web page
* write an autoresponder
* create an opt-in box
STEP FIVE: RELEASE/LAUNCH
This is the step where you promote, release, launch, talk about, and start utilizing the particular marketing tactic. There are always several ways you can promote a marketing strategy – usually via other marketing activities you’re already utilizing.
Depending on the marketing tactic, you could be launching it yourself or in conjunction with a joint venture or other partner. The activities that could be included under Step Five are really dependent on your resources, content and imagination.
Using the free-giveaway example, some ways to promote an MP3 free product are:
* have a link to your free-giveaway on your Facebook profile
* mention your free-giveaway in your resource box at the end of articles you write
* announce it on message boards and email discussion lists
* post your audio to podcast directories
* send out a press release
Each of these 5 steps can be broken down into several smaller activities that are required to bring a marketing tactic “into being” – so to speak. These 5 major steps will give you a good start when creating your marketing plan, and then you can flesh out the individual necessary actions under each of these steps.

How to Make Time for Marketing

To start getting business and success, you must make time for marketing. Most small business owners and solopreneurs know this…let’s face it, they’ve heard it over and over again.

What I’ve heard over and over again from people is that they don’t have enough time to do everything, and certainly not to do marketing!

I know that it’s tough – believe me it’s the same for me sometimes. But I have seen the results when I do make time to market and so that keeps me finding time, even when it seems impossible.

I have also seen the results that other successful business owners get…and it’s because they make marketing their #1 priority.

If you’ve made marketing a low priority, here are some things for you to do TODAY to start to change that:

- go to your calendar, make a 3 hour block in each week for the next month and label it: Do Marketing!

–> during this time period turn off your email/phone/Blackberry and work uninterrupted

- spend 15 minutes and write down all the administrative tasks you work on during a typical business week

–> take at least 2 of those administrative tasks and give to someone else to do: a college student, your associate, a Virtual Assistant

- make a list of your time-wasters during the day (internet surfing, computer games, yakking with friends, surfing Facebook) and the next time you start to do one of these activities, stop and do a marketing task instead: call a client, jot down 5 ideas for new articles, write a blog post, research a guest for your next teleseminar, write a special email to your list, etc.

- take a look at all the ezines you get and ruthlessly cut it down to only 5 – cancel all the others

- take 15 minutes and figure out a new promotion that you can do within the next month: a “just-for-the-hell-of-it” sale on your products; a membership drive email campaign for your program or association; re-launch an ebook; do a special teleseminar and record the call to make a product later; book a local speaking engagement; etc.

Marketing is an ongoing process for you for the lifetime of your business. The sooner you start cultivating consistent marketing habits, the sooner you’ll start reaping the rewards you want.

Try taking these small steps…I know they seem bigger but really, they are doable! I promise you that not only will you attract more clients and prospects but you’ll also start really feeling good about your ability to market effectively and this increased confidence will show throughout all areas of your business and personal life.

So what are you waiting for?! Get going on those steps….

Email Marketing Solutions Pushes Brand Awareness for Garment Designers

As a smaller brand within the garment design industry, how can you compete against the bigger brand names without email marketing solutions? You don’t have the kind of cash flow to purchase print media or Television advertisements to expand your client base. On top of that, you don’t have the costly, sophisticated tools big companies use to keep their customers coming back. Email marketing solutions helps you hold on to your clients by promoting your brand and making your customers feel appreciated. Email marketing solutions only require a few minutes of your time. In that brief span you get professionally designed email advertising campaigns sent directly to your customers.
So here’s where you begin: collect a list of emails. There are a number of ways to accomplish this, and one effective method is to get your customers to sign up by giving them a discount, like ‘5% off every order this month if you sign up for our email database.’ A company that is satisfied with your service will be thrilled to receive the same merchandise at a lower cost, especially if it means that they will receive a ‘preferred customer promotion’ for doing so.
Congratulations! You now have your first contacts. The next step is to sign up for an email marketing solutions account. Signing up is easy, because most email marketing solutions are created with the idea of keeping things as simple as possible so that anyone can take advantage of them. Now, cycle through the professionally-designed templates and create your first campaign. Building your campaign is also an easy process. Email marketing solutions gives you user-friendly templates so that all you have to do is input your text (or you can copy and paste it, if you want), and add your images. Here are a few tricks to think about when using your email marketing solutions to create a campaign: Do not use too much bolding, italics, and capital lettering in the main body portion or the subject line of your email. Also, try not to put too many pictures of your products without also balancing those images with content to support the images. Symbols like exclamation points or dollar signs in your subject line should also be avoided as well. All these techniques, commonly used to attract attention, also end up attracting spam filters. If you overuse them, your email will not go into your subscribers’ inbox, but rather into their spam or junk mail box.
When you are ready, click a button to schedule your email marketing campaign, and it will automatically go out to the people on your list at the date and time you selected.
Now that your email marketing solutions campaign is finished and has arrived in your buyersC inbox, you will be able to track which of your clients were interested in your marketing campaign. One of the great things about email marketing solutions is that it can track ‘clicks’, and ‘opens.’ This gives you a percentage breakdown and analysis of which of your customers are opening and clicking on the promotions you have in your email. Also, by adding a ‘forward to friend’ button, you will be able increase your mailing list, and have a greater chance to have more customers.
As a garments designer, using email marketing solutions will have a large impact on how many return customers you have, which will positively affect sales. Email marketing solutions can provide you with added business and potentially grow your client base over time. This is a cost effective way to keep on par with larger brand competitors and maximize your brand’s potential. You might be small, but now you can plan for bigger things.

Marketing & Promoting Cyprus Properties through Social Networking

I am always working on marketing, promoting Cyprus Marketing Solutions, Cyprus101 website, ourselves and of course all of the great Cyprus properties for sale that we have listed. This task is not an easy one. I would say that it’s very difficult to get people to find you in between the thousands of other choices. It is a never-ending and constantly evolving field. An element that even makes it more difficult is the ability to measure the efforts or the lack of it. As new technology is introduced, so are new methods and tools at your disposal. The trick is to find them and then make them work in order to be successful.

I have been selling Cyprus property for 3 years now and I would say that I came into the business at the end of it’s peak and the worst time to enter. I would also say that selling property on an island to people from a country that is four hours or more away by plane is not an easy thing to do, especially with never having been there.

I was told once that I need to stop joining so many Internet social sites. The person said that when I invited them to join Twitter. I was shocked because it came from who I thought was a web-savvy blogger with a lot of general knowledge about marketing. I realized that for me the internet was more than just emails and socializing or keeping up with the sports or whatever non-marketing people enjoys.  For me, I have to constantly crawl the web and join all networks such as: Facebook, Linkedin, Digg, Stumbleupon, Sphinn, Technorati, Stumbleupon and many, many more, hoping to find the next best thing to get exposure before my competition does. It is my job to look for the benefit each site shows for my efforts and whether to continue to be a member and learn more about their offers and system or just ditch them all together.

There are some that are more easily accessible than others and some that are just a pain to navigate. For example this post was inspired by Technorati who in order for them to verify that I am the author of this blog I must place a code within a recent post. The code is FPPGR5CCRBWA and once this post is published I will click on a button in my account to inform them so they can verify it and then my blog will be a part of their web and I hopefully will get some love from their robots as well as the other bloggers out their. It’s things like this and many more that I work on and then finally try to gage the results.

I have found that even with all the new technolgy and changes, one principal remains timeless and that is that you will only get out of something what you put into it.  My passion for what I do will drive me forward to reaching my goal. At least for now it seems that I must be on the right track because business is good!

Cleo is the owner of Cyprus marketing solutions Ltd. a Paphos based company providing proven internet marketing solutions specializing in selling property in Cyprus to families relocating and buying property in Paphos district and surrounding area.
